Official FIFA 1938 World Cup ball in France

Allen model

This ball was well-known as ALLEN, the company which provided soccer balls during the World Cup in France 1938. These kind of balls usually had 12 panels but this model consisted of 13 leather panels, because the part where the sewing, was made was formed by 3 panels instead of 2. The rest of the ball consisted of groups of 2 panels. Available at store.

One of the offical posters of the Allen brand which supplied balls for the 1938 World Cup in France.

Here we see Just Fontaine years later playing with ball of the 1938 World Cup. He never played this World Cup because he was still very young. But Just Fontaine is currently the top scorer in a single World Cup in the history. He scored 13 goals in the 1958 World Cup.

Nowadays there are not Allen's balls from 1938 left. Becuase the Allen text printed on the ball is erased due to the time. So the only similar 1938 balls left are in these pictures.
