Official FIFA 1974 World Cup ball in Germany
Adidas Telstar model
Adidas repeated the same design, the only difference was the colour of the lettering. Instead of a gold letterings of Telstar 70, this time the printed color was black. The Telstar is considered a classic design . The Telstar became in the icon of all soccer balls that is why we can see this design in most of cartoon movies, comics or pictures for children. On the 1974 World Cup in Germany, Adidas introduced two models, the Telstar and the Chile Durlast. Both models were the official match balls for that tournament. Telstar 74 and Chile 74 balls were made of real leather.
The secod official ball for this tournament was the Chile Durlast. This ball was made of genuine leather and was sewed with pentagonal and hexagonal panels. The ball was totally white in this case. The Chile durlast ball was composed by 32 panels as well.
