Official FIFA 1982 World Cup ball in Spain

Adidas Tango Spain model

Tango España by Adidas was the official match ball of 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain. The design was exactly the same but this time Adidas introduced a very important technical innovation. Its waterproof sewings reduced the water absortion, and thus the ball did not get weight when it rained during the match. The result was the ball got a good performance in a dry conditions or wet conditions. It was the last Adidas model made of real leather, after this ball Adidas used synthetic materials. This model was also called Tango, but with the last name "España" instead of River Plate or Durlast as its ancestor.

Adidas also launched the same ball in red and yellow color in order to play meantime it was raining or snowing. The ball was more visible then.
