Azteca Mexico by Adidas was the official match ball of 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, the second World Cup celebrated in Mexico after 1970 World Cup. It was also the first fully synthetic FIFA World Cup ball. The use of synthetic material increased the durability and reduced the absorption of water.The elaborately decorated design was inspired by the hosting nation’s native Aztec architecture and murals.

On the left the main star was Maradona and his famous goal with the Azteca. On the right, Michel Platini, one of the stars in that World Cup with the Azteca ball as well.
