Official match balls of the 1974 World Cup in Germany

Telstar and Chile models

Adidas used the same design for the following Wolrd Cup, 1974 Germany. But the new 1974 Telstar had the printed letters in a black color instead of gold as the 1970 Telstar.This was the only difference between both models.

This model was made of real leather as well.

Here we see Johan Cruyff and Franz Beckenbauer competing for a ball. Two football legends with another star, The Telstar ball.

But Adidas launched two official balls for that tournament in order to play all matches, the 1974 Telstar and 1974 Chile (picture above). The 1974 Chile was made of genuine leather and was sewed with pentagonal and hexagonal panels. The ball totally was white on this case.
