Official match ball of the 1982
World Cup in Spain
Tango España

In the 1982 World Cup in Spain Adidas launched the Tango
Spain. The design was exactly the same but this time Adidas introduced
a very important technical innovation. Its waterproof sewings reduced
the water absortion, and thus the ball did not get weight when it rained
during the match. The result was the ball got a good performance in a
dry conditions or wet conditions.

As you can see on the picture the ball was made of genuine
leather as well. It was the last Adidas model made of real leather.

This model was also called Tango, but with the last name
"España" instead of River Plate or Durlast as its ancestor.

In the 90's Adidas also introduced several reeditions
of this model.
